How to Use This Workbook

The Chiropractic Therapy Assistant Workbook is intended to aid in the learning process for those interested in a professional career as a chiropractic therapy assistant.  In order for you to obtain the most benefit from this workbook, you should review each chapter of the textbook Chiropractic Therapy Assistant:  A Clinical Resource Guide by Hosenfeld & Stevens prior to commencing your workbook study.  Below you will find steps for using this material to your best advantage.

1. Review each chapter in Chiropractic Therapy Assistant:  A Clinical Resource Guide before you begin the corresponding chapter in the workbook.
2. Once you have reviewed the chapter in the textbook, revisit sections that present the most difficulty for you and focus on those for deeper comprehension.
3. It is suggested after learning new material to “rest” or take part in an unrelated activity for at least 30 minutes before applying or testing new knowledge.  This allows your brain to organize the information into appropriate recall centers.  Optimal “rest” time is no less than 30 minutes and no more than 24 hours.
4. Now that you have read, reviewed, and studied the textbook chapter, you can read the Define Your Knowledge section provided at the beginning of each chapter in the workbook.  This section serves as a briefing or chapter summary and may include additional information to aid in comprehension.
5. Consider the Study Tips.  They may present a new, easier way to remember certain information.
6. Apply Your Knowledge.  Complete the application portion of the chapter.  Answer the questions you know.  Refer to your notes and the text to help you complete the others. Answer keys are provided in the back of the workbook; however, you are encouraged to only use the answer keys for checking completed chapters.  Open Response questions and instructions on how to score them are provided.
7. Return to the text to reread sections that are challenging.
8. It is again suggested here that you give yourself another break (at least 30 minutes).
9. Now you are ready for the Chapter Review.  Each review consists of fill in the blank, multiple choice and true/false questions  Do not use your notes or textbook during the review. Each answer will be checked after it is submitted.
